The visual vocabulary of sounds

- Soundscape is a sound or a combination of sounds that forms or arises from an immersive environment. My objective was to bring awareness to the quality of the outdoor soundscape. By creating a visual vocabulary for each type of sound and let them interfere with each other, the displaying will naturally translate the proportions of natural sounds against anthropogenic noise. By absorbing the sound, the project would thus become an installation that quietly showcases the outdoors, bringing a new medium of information that draws from a real world intangible phenomenon into a virtual yet tangible display. >Back |
